Plot summary
Four of the Reno brothers rob and kill across southern Indiana in the years after the Civil War, and some of them came home from that war hardened to violence. Their sister Laura inherited the family home and keeps house and cooks for them, while a fifth brother, Clint, is a respected Indiana farmer. Frank Reno leads the gang. James Barlow, once a secret agent for the Confederacy, sets out to get inside it by passing himself off as a train robber, and he begins courting Laura.
