Plot summary
It is Christmas Eve, and Angela Bridges has stayed at her desk in a Midtown Manhattan office block, already late for a family party. In the second underground parking level, her car will not start. Thomas Barclay, a socially awkward security guard, helps her and asks her to spend Christmas with him; she declines and calls a taxi. Waiting in the lobby, she finds she is locked in and runs back to the garage. The taxi leaves, the lights shut off, and while she wanders the deserted levels by the light of her cell phone, she is drugged. She wakes in Thomas's office, dressed in a white gown with her foot chained to the table, and he tells her he loves her and has watched her through the building's cameras for a long time.

- Commenting on the shoot, actress Rachel Nichols called it "the most demanding job I ever had": two months straight of filming at night, in a dress with bare feet, and handcuffs that "were real throughout, even when I'm driving the car."
- Following the release of their film High Tension (2003), Aja and his co-writer on that film, Levasseur, developed the screenplay for P2 alongside Khalfoun, inspired by a series of real-life attacks on women that were reported in Paris parking garages.
- Fourteen white dresses were made for the character of Angela to wear, each one in a different stage of dirtiness and decay, and three different dogs were used to portray Thomas' Rottweiler.
