Plot summary
Ted Grey arrives at the Medical Center of the Metropolitan University, first in his class at Harvard Medical School and fresh from a training period in Lagos, and his professor, Dr. Quentin Morris, takes pride in him. His fiancée, Gwen Williamson, comes from a wealthy and influential family. Among the residents, Jake Gallo is the star, and he resents the newcomer, yet he invites Ted to join four other residents in an after-hours game in the hospital morgue: one of them commits a murder that leaves no clue behind, and the others examine the body and compete to name the cause of death. When Gwen decides to move into Ted's apartment, Ted tries to leave the group.
