Plot summary
Michel teaches art, Gérard teaches sport, and Francis works in the library; the three of them are friends with Frédéric Game, who teaches literature. Together the four look at their colleagues with a critical eye, and none of them wants to settle into the habits of the place. They invent new approaches for their classes and fill their free time with games and practical jokes, which can look more childish than what the pupils get up to. When the other teachers stand in their way, the group works on plans to remove the colleagues they consider a problem. Frédéric also tries to win over Julie, a substitute teacher.
