Plot summary
Ernie and Dave worked as butchers during their Army service, and after they left the service they went into business together with a butcher's shop. Dave, Ernie's partner in the business, has long been in love with Sunny, who is Ernie's wife. Sunny believes Ernie spends his time and money on other women, and she wants all the details so that a divorce can clean him out. She is having an affair of her own. To get proof, she hires the private detective Lester Atlas to follow her husband. The story plays out in and around San Pedro, in Los Angeles, California.
