Plot summary
David Owen is a lawyer in New York who is plagued by noise. Car alarms, burglar alarms and backup beepers follow him through the city, and he has endured them for years, through his daughter's childhood. He forces open a car to quiet an alarm and police arrest him. He and his family spend a weekend in the countryside, which only swaps one set of noise problems for another. Attempts to deal with the noise legally bring him no progress.
