A washed-out bridge derails the Orient Express, and two traveling Americans, Travis and Al, rescue Marie, a German who performs with a small theatrical troupe. At the lodge where the survivors shelter, Nickoloff, an officer of the Russian secret services, attempts to slip into Marie's room, and a brawl breaks out until French soldiers arrive with news of the war. Travis, Al and Marie make their way to Paris, where Travis and Marie fall in love. In the parallel story, King Nephilim makes his people worship the god Jaghuth, while Noah and his sons, faithful to Jehovah, build the Ark on a mountainside.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- About 7,500 extras worked on Noah's Ark, and during the climactic flood scene the 600,000 US gallons of water were so overwhelming that three extras drowned, one had a leg amputated, and many broke limbs, leading to stunt safety regulations the next year.
- The film's opening shot, showing the ark beached, was filmed at the Iverson Movie Ranch in Chatsworth, California, using the Garden of the Gods boulders, a spot later famous for hundreds of movies including John Ford's Stagecoach (1939).
