Plot summary
Angel has spent her childhood in foster homes, and she turns eighteen on the day she walks out of juvenile detention. As a small child she saw her father kill her mother. Now she wants to find him and take revenge on him. To do that she needs his address, which means finding her ten-year-old sister Abby, not seen for two years. Abby is living in a group home, in conditions like the ones Angel grew up in, and she is at risk of following the same path. Wanting to care for Abby pulls against Angel's plan, since the chance of becoming her legal guardian depends on Angel staying out of trouble.
