Plot summary
Seventy-three years after the Cyborg Wars ended in defeat, humans live as slaves under cyborg masters. Rebel scientists develop a new DNA strain that could bring the cyborgs down, and they inject it into a woman who is pregnant. Word reaches the cyborgs, who list the woman and her baby for termination. She escapes in a stolen cyborg ship and is carried back through time to East Africa in 1980, where she is killed but her baby, a girl named Alex, survives. Twenty years on, the cyborg bounty hunter Nebula finds Alex grown and journeys into the past to end her.
