Plot summary
João is a heartbroken Brazilian fisherman. One day, he sees a penguin drifting by itself at sea, its body slick with oil and close to death. He rescues the bird and, while caring for it, helps it regain its strength. As the penguin recovers, the man and the animal form a deep and lasting bond. This unlikely friendship transforms João's life.
