Plot summary
Zelma is eight years old and wants love, because the Mythology Sirens tell her that only love will make her complete. At school she is an outcast, and at home she is a loner. The Sirens' songs guide her to make herself into the kind of girl boys like, cute, weak and demure. Biology answers that she has DNA, millions of neural pathways and chemical reactions in her brain that make up her personality. Between the two forces Zelma struggles to find her own ground.
