Plot summary
Jack is a chimpanzee whose athletic talent is well known. A mix-up during a trip leaves him at a ski resort in Colorado, where he crosses paths with Pete, a snowboarder, and Pete's brother Jay, who plays in a rock band. Jack picks up snowboarding fast, and crowds on the mountain watch him ride. He joins Pete and Jay in going after a snowboard cross title. Two crooks find out what the animal can do and lay plans to seize him and cash in on his skills. The brothers and the chimp work to stay ahead of them through the contests on the slopes.

- Louie, the chimpanzee who plays Jack, was trained to snowboard by ski and snowboard instructor Sam Morishima, first on an indoor ski deck, then on hills and slopes on his owners' property, and finally at Soda Springs Ski Resort near Lake Tahoe in California.
- Because the snowboard scenes were shot in the cold, a warming tent with a heater was set up on set so that Louie the chimpanzee had somewhere to recover between takes.
