Plot summary
Jack, a chimpanzee, plays hockey for the Seattle Simians until the Los Angeles Carjackers set him up to look as though he bit an opponent's finger. Jack hits the road, and his teammates search for him. In the city he meets Ben Johnson, a runaway orphan who skates and lives in a shack by an old pool; the two become friends. When a police officer learns where they live, they have to leave. Ben's board is broken just before a competition he hopes will bring him a sponsor, so Jack digs through Oliver Plant's dumpster of old skateboard gear. Oliver finds Ben, hears about the board and the contest, and gives him one. Oliver puts them up for the night.
