Plot summary
With General Afir at his side, Emperor Tod Spengo seizes a distant planet whose people are not clever and renames it for himself. He sets its resources to building a Super Death Ray Laser meant to destroy Earth. When he checks the laser's target, a Southern California suburb, he catches sight of Marge Nelson and becomes infatuated with her. He fires his Magnobeam, a giant magnet, and pulls Marge and her husband Dick off Earth while they are traveling to mark twenty years of marriage. On Spengo the pair are separated, Marge kept in luxury and Dick thrown into a dungeon, where he meets King Raff, the planet's rightful ruler.
