Plot summary
MK-Ultra is a program of human experimentation that the Central Intelligence Agency runs in secret and outside the law in the early 1960s. At its center are psychedelic and other mind-controlling drugs. Ford Strauss is a psychiatrist who has been pressing for approval of LSD testing for medical use. CIA agent Galvin Morgan comes to him with an offer: take charge of a subsect of the program at a psychiatric hospital in rural Mississippi. Strauss accepts. There he carries out the experiments, on an arsonist, a drug addict, a transgender woman and an animal killer. The assignment pushes his moral and scientific boundaries to the limit.
