Plot summary
Eighteen-year-old June Allen lives with her mother, Grace, in Van Nuys, a suburb of Los Angeles. Grace leaves for a vacation in Cartagena, Colombia, with her new boyfriend, Kevin, while June stays behind, annoyed by her mother's constant micromanaging. During the week, June parties and tries to avoid Heather, Grace's lawyer friend. A week later, June waits at the airport, but Grace and Kevin do not arrive. The hotel in Cartagena reports that their luggage was never taken. The FBI attaché cannot get the needed footage in time, so June decides to investigate on her own. She hires Javier, a gig worker in Colombia, to look around on the ground while she follows digital clues.
