Plot summary
Emily Walton is a young woman who has been blind since the car accident that killed her mother, a blindness that is psychosomatic. She is adjusting to life without sight, and her father, David, keeps a close watch over her at home. On Mischief Night, David goes out on a date and leaves Emily alone in the house. A hooded figure gets in and terrorizes her, and Emily has to fight for her life to protect herself and the people she holds dear from the intruder.

- For Emily Walton in Mischief Night, extensive auditions sought an actress the audience would believe was 17 and could play blind convincingly; the part went to Noell Coet, previously only in minor roles, who did extensive research on blindness.
- Jesse Baget wrote the screenplay for Mischief Night with the intention of directing it himself, but was forced to drop out because of scheduling conflicts with other projects; the filmmakers then approached Richard Schenkman, a friend from The Man From Earth, to direct.
