Plot summary
Three men are found in New York City, their faces removed, strung up among the high-tension wires. Detective Klaski investigates and finds that each of the men knew Remi Panos, an entomologist who teaches at an inner-city high school. The link makes her an unlikely suspect in the killings. Klaski considers Remi a prime suspect until he sees for himself the shape-shifting creature stalking her, a mutant insect that is intelligent and wears the face of a previous victim.
