Stanley Brown
Biography
Stanley Brown, also credited as Brad Taylor, was a Canadian film actor whose best-known role was Ollie Shaw in the Blondie series. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, and studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated in 1936. His screen work started in 1937 with Speed to Spare and Double or Nothing. The following year he appeared in You Can't Take It with You, Blondie, Rio Grande, and others. He went on to play Ollie Shaw in several Blondie films, among them Blondie Meets the Boss and It's a Great Life. In 1941 he took the lead as Harrison Carey in Harvard, Here I Come, and he also appeared in The Man with Nine Lives (1940). Brown left acting in 1945 after starring as Steve Ames in Swingin' on a Rainbow, for which he was credited as Brad Taylor.
