Plot summary
The Christmas season is a busy one at the Merry and Bright Candy Cane Company, where Cate Merriwether is the chief executive. Her mother, Joy, is trying to match her with a suitor. Cate meets Gabe Carter and takes him for that suitor, though he works for Empire Corporate Recovery, the firm hired to take a closer look at how Merry and Bright operates and to suggest ways of making the company more profitable. Working side by side at the company, Cate and Gabe come up with ideas for elevating the business, and they find they share more than business sense.
