Plot summary
Harper Marlowe, grieving the death of her husband James, rents a country house in the Herefordshire village of Cotson, hoping to find a place to heal. The owner, Geoffrey, shows her around. On a walk through the woods she reaches a disused railway tunnel, where a figure screams and charges at her; she runs until she is clear. She later notices a naked man standing at a distance, watching. The next day, while she is on a video call with Riley, the same man appears in the garden, his face covered in bloody scratches. Harper finds the front door ajar, locks it, and the man pushes his hand through the letter box. She calls the police, and he is arrested.
