Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Meet the Robinsons (2007)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Disney's 2006 acquisition of Pixar made John Lasseter chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios; after an early screening he told Anderson the villain was not scary enough, and almost 60% of the film was scrapped and redone ten months later, with a new sidekick, a dinosaur chase and a changed ending.
- Jim Carrey was originally offered the role of Bowler Hat Guy, but he signed to star in the film The Number 23 instead.
- Stephen Anderson developed a personal connection to the film's main character, Lewis, because Anderson himself grew up an orphan and was later adopted.
- The song "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" was not written for the film: it came from the Disneyland attraction General Electric's Carousel of Progress, which was located in Tomorrowland.
- Meet the Robinsons was the first Walt Disney animated film to display the Walt Disney Animation Studios logo at the beginning; earlier animated films from the studio had displayed only the Walt Disney Pictures logo.
