Plot summary
Agatha Weiss has traveled to Los Angeles from Florida, her face and body badly scarred by burns, and rides in a limousine driven by Jerome Fontana, an aspiring actor who wants to be a screenwriter. Her parents, TV psychologist Stafford Weiss and Cristina Weiss, are estranged from her, and her brother Benjie is a child star newly out of rehab and back at work on a comedy sequel. Havana Segrand, an aging actress Stafford treats, wants a role in a remake of Stolen Waters, the film her mother Clarice Taggart starred in, and is haunted by hallucinations of her mother. Havana hires Agatha as a personal assistant, and Agatha keeps calling on Jerome.
