Plot summary
Fanny Price arrives at Mansfield Park as a child, sent to be raised by her wealthy uncle and aunt, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram, alongside their children, Tom, Maria, Edmund and Julia. Her other aunt, Mrs. Norris, treats her as a servant rather than a relative. Edmund is kind to her, and their friendship grows over the years. At eighteen, Fanny writes and speaks her mind. While Sir Thomas and Tom are away in Antigua, Henry and Mary Crawford arrive in the neighborhood, and Edmund is drawn to Mary.
