Plot summary
Kelly makes his living as an armed bank robber, and he is angry at the world and frightened of dying. Flo Becker is his partner in crime and the person who gave him the nickname Machine Gun, after his obsession with Thompson submachine guns. Flo talks tough, and she dominates and ridicules him, while Kelly dreads being jailed or killed. Discord spreads among the gang around the pair. A robbery that goes wrong costs their partner Michael Fandango an arm. With Flo goading him, Kelly moves on to a more profitable crime: he takes the daughter of a wealthy businessman and holds her for ransom.
