Long Weekend (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

Bart's novel earns nothing, his fiancée has left him, and he is ignoring his psychiatrist's calls. Broke, he writes product descriptions for a medical-supply company and sleeps in the garage at Doug's house. Doug is his best friend, and Doug's wife Rachel and their children live there too. Drunk one night, Bart falls asleep in a movie theater. A young woman named Vienna wakes him to say the movie is over. They talk, hit it off, and spend the evening at a bar and then in Vienna's motel room. She says her mother has cancer, which brings back the death of Bart's own mother. Vienna carries no phone and a lot of cash, and when Bart asks about her life she changes the subject.
