Plot summary
A video apology letter is what Lola is putting together for Henry, a mysterious pen-pal. Lola is 22, an ex-con, and the rest of her days go to court-mandated community service, collecting trash along the side of the highway. Her recordings open a window onto her world and the people in it, and they swing from darkly funny to painfully honest. Who Henry is, and why Lola cannot let him go, runs through the letter. Ree is her best friend, Sam is a new love interest, and the two tug Lola in opposite directions. Lola is trying to rebuild her life after a huge mistake.
