Plot summary
John LeTour cannot sleep. At forty he is one of two men who make drug deliveries for Ann, whose customers work in banking and finance, and Ann is considering a move into cosmetics. LeTour has lost his perspective on his life and wants out of the trade. One night he runs into Marianne, the ex-wife he once shared a destructive, drug-fueled relationship with. Both have stopped using, and Marianne turns down his hope of beginning again. The police begin watching LeTour because a client of his, Tis, is connected to the death of a young woman, one of several apparently drug-related deaths in the city.
