Plot summary
At a border town saloon in 1848, ranch foreman Gene Stewart, deep in drink, pledges to marry the next woman to arrive. His friend Poco brings word of a lady at the train station, and Gene turns up with a minister who speaks only Spanish. The wedding stops when Gene sees that she is Madeline Hammond, the sister of his workmate Al Hammond. Madeline settles in, meets Flo Kingsley, Al's fiancée, and takes to life in the Old West. She buys a ranch of her own, unaware that Nat Hayworth is smuggling ammunition across the border through it. When trouble comes, she goes after Gene, an ex-foreman who left the country after a fight with Sheriff Tom Hawes.
