Last of the Dogmen (1995) on Netflix

Plot summary

Lewis Gates works as a bounty hunter in Montana, and Sheriff Deegan still blames him for the death of Deegan's daughter. Deegan presses Gates to track three armed escaped convicts into the Oxbow Quadrangle, a stretch of wilderness where people have vanished. Gates finds the convicts' trail, hears gunshots, and comes away with a bloody scrap of cloth, a shotgun shell and an old-fashioned Cheyenne arrow. Archaeologist Lillian Sloan identifies the arrow as a copy of the kind carried by Cheyenne Dog Soldiers. Gates reads of disappearances in the Oxbow and of a wild child taken by railroad men in the early twentieth century who escaped back into the woods. He persuades Sloan to enter the Oxbow with him and search.
