L'allenatore nel pallone (1984) on Netflix

Plot summary

Oronzo Canà, a coach whose career has brought him little success, takes charge of Longobarda, a small club in northern Italy that has just won promotion to Serie A. The sports press greets the appointment with mockery, and the results do nothing to silence it. Behind the scenes, the owner Borlotti has no wish to fund a top-flight team and would prefer a quick return to Serie B, leaving Canà to take the blame. Sent to Brazil to look for reinforcements, Canà travels with Andrea Bergonzoni, a friend who presents himself as a talent scout. The famous players they were promised do not materialize, and Canà comes back with Aristoteles, a young forward he watched on a dusty pitch, while the rest of the squad keeps its distance from the newcomer.
