Odds and Evens (1978) on Netflix

Plot summary

An illegal betting sweepstake in Florida is run by the Mafia, whose bookmakers control and rig the gambling competitions across the state. A US Marine from Miami, Johnny Firpo, is given the job of breaking the ring, and his orders include working with Charlie Firpo, a former gambler who now drives a truck. Charlie had given up gambling after an earlier clash with Paragoulis, known as the Greek, in which he smashed up the place and was said to have broken Paragoulis' nose. To get Charlie's help, Johnny tricks him into giving him a ride toward Miami, then takes Charlie's truck while Paragoulis' henchmen distract him.
