Plot summary
Justine studies at a private university in the Northeast on financial aid, and a flight home for Thanksgiving is beyond her means. Her boyfriend Aaron and her roommate Nicole both leave for the break, so she stays on a nearly empty campus with only a handful of staff around. On Thanksgiving night she drives Nicole's BMW to a convenience store, where a hooded girl named Violet admires the car, refuses Justine's offer to pay for sunglasses, and calls her Kristy. Back in her room, Justine finds a snuff film playing on her laptop and Violet standing there with a boxcutter. An anonymous website urges its members to kill Kristy, a name that means follower of God, and Justine has become the target.
