Plot summary
Alterplex, a power company, has built a tower that taps unlimited quantum energy, and it recruits the physicist Will Porter, a former NASA pilot, to reverse the damage the tower causes. The energy comes from a mirror Earth known as The Echo, where the same kind of tower stands. Life is not supposed to exist there, but a malfunction made The Echo a true mirror of Earth, and both worlds now face destruction. Porter is sent across with a cube device called the Redivider, which he is told will even out the power between the two universes. The armies of The Echo blame the tower for the gravity anomalies and unexplained deaths there, and they want to stop him.
