Plot summary
In a remote community in the woods, people worship a pit with healing powers. Dawai makes clay jugs bearing faces, and a jug that bears a member's face marks that member as the next offering to the creature in the pit. Ada has been sleeping with her brother Jessaby, and she sees her own face on the newest jug Dawai has made. She hides it and tells no one. The community arranges for Ada to be joined to Bodey, a boy from another family, and she discovers she is pregnant.

- In 2011, writer-director Chad Kinkle won the Slamdance Screenwriting Competition with his Jug Face script, and at the 2012 Slamdance Film Festival it was announced that Modernciné's Andrew van den Houten and Robert Tonino would produce the film in Nashville.
- Sean Young was deliberately made to look old for her part in the film, a transformation she said was helped by the custom-made clothing made for her.
- The film's face jugs were the work of a real potter and sculptor, Jason Mahlke, who designed and created them for the production.
