Plot summary
Jiminy Glick, a movie critic with an appetite to match his ambitions, arrives at the Toronto Film Festival with his wife Dixie and their children, hoping a star interview will raise his profile. He sleeps through a screening of Growing Up Gandhi, an independent film that imagines Gandhi as a prize fighter in India, then gets its lead, Ben DiCarlo, to talk with him. The festival crowd is unimpressed by the picture, but Jiminy has his interview. Miranda Coolidge, at the festival with a picture called African Queens, also agrees to a conversation. Parties and buffets fill his days between talks.
