Plot summary

Nine people in Los Angeles are connected to one another, and at the center of their stories are Helen and Warren Harding, an upscale couple already on the brink of divorce. Awakened in the night, Warren fires at a man in their home and says he mistook him for an intruder; the man was Helen's lover, and she leaves him. Three interconnected stories trace the handguns that come into the lives of the others, and the paths that keep crossing the Hardings'.
