Plot summary
In 2016, twenty-seven years after the Losers Club drove Pennywise out of Derry, Maine, the clown returns and a killing in town tells Mike Hanlon that It is awake again. Mike, the only one of the friends who never left, telephones the rest: Bill Denbrough, now a novelist in Los Angeles; Ben Hanscom, an architect; Beverly Marsh, a fashion designer married to an abusive husband; Richie Tozier, a stand-up comedian; Eddie Kaspbrak, a risk analyst; and Stanley Uris. Most of them have forgotten what happened in 1989, and Mike brings them back to Derry to remember their oath and finish what they started.
