Plot summary
Nate Foster works terrorism cases for the FBI, and when a highway crash reveals that canisters of cesium-137 have gone missing, he is drawn into a different kind of investigation. Angela Zamparo, who suspects white supremacists rather than a foreign network, asks him to go undercover and argues that his profile suits the job. Nate shaves his head, takes an apartment, and becomes Nate Thomas, an Iraq veteran who runs a medical supply business handling radioactive material. A confidential informant, Frank Hedges, gives him an introduction to Vince Sargent's circle, and Sargent can put him near Dallas Wolf, the talk radio host the movement listens to.
