Plot summary
Evan Danielson has spent eight years as the top account manager at his securities firm, and Johnny Whitefeather is hired there as his rival. The executives around Dante D'Enzo, the company's owner, prefer Whitefeather's chants and strange sayings to Evan's careful talk of sound investments. Olivia, Evan's young daughter, carries a comfort blanket she calls her goo-gaa and consults imaginary friends, among them Queen Qwali and the princesses Kupida, Sopida and Mopida. The companies Olivia names and draws match what the markets then do, an advantage at the office that his colleagues cannot account for. Back at the firm, Evan and Whitefeather are competing for leadership of the Western division.
