Plot summary
Nick Pearson has spent years as a bachelor and is finally preparing to get married. Days before the wedding, he meets Mason, a 13-year-old boy who says Nick is his father. Mason finds him with help from The Amazing Fabular, a psychic. Nick cannot stand children and would prefer to return Mason to his biological mother, but no one knows who she is. Since Nick has no other way to resolve the situation, he sets out on a road trip with Mason and the psychic. Their goal is to visit a long list of Nick's former partners and ask each woman whether she is Mason's mother. The encounters produce mixed results.
