Plot summary
Austin Police Detective Danny Rourke has spent three years searching for his abducted daughter, Minnie. Acting on an anonymous tip, he and his partner Nicks stake out a safe deposit box. A stranger there gives orders that onlookers obey immediately, then slips away. Rourke opens the box and finds a photograph of Minnie with a note: 'Find Lev Dellrayne.' The lead points to Diana Cruz, a fortune-teller. She explains that she and Dellrayne are Hypnotics, people with powerful mind-control abilities who broke out of a covert government program called the Division. Rourke seems resistant to her powers. When Dellrayne uses his influence to turn Nicks against them, Rourke and Cruz are forced to run.
