Plot summary
A documentary about the grunge scene that formed in the Pacific Northwest in the early and mid 1990s. Interviews and rare concert footage trace the music from early shows in neighborhood basements to the moment grunge became a pop culture phenomenon, told by the people who were part of it. Bands from the scene appear in interviews and performances, along with a band manager, two record producers and a photographer. Their accounts dispute the myths about the genre that media hype spread, and the mythos is treated satirically while the hype is acknowledged to have helped propel obscure bands to fame. One of the producers is jokingly called the godfather of grunge.
