Plot summary
Atti is a Roman teenager who has brains but no muscle and is forever hatching schemes. One of his plans upsets Emperor Nero, so the punishment is exile to Roman Britain, the cold, wet province on the fringe of the empire. There Orla, a feisty Celt, takes him captive. Captor and captive eventually reach an understanding, and Atti goes back to his regiment to serve as a soldier.
