Plot summary
Marshal Nico Giraldi works the anti-theft squad in Rome, where the criminals he deals with specialize in stealing cars and emptying luxury apartments. Among the thieves he deals with are Blinds, a small-time one inclined to confess, and Zagaja, who stutters, along with a pair of Sicilian brothers, Rosario and Salvatore. The gang takes documents during a burglary that empties the villa of Mr. Douglas, a wealthy American, and the papers lay out a bribery system known as Deal Zebra Point that reaches powerful figures in the United States. The thieves make contact with Douglas and ask for payment in exchange for returning the papers.
