Plot summary
A wagon train heads west, and Jamie, a teenage boy, rides along with his father, Doctor McPheeters. When the wagons need supplies, the train stops near a small town. There Linc Murdock, the armed and experienced wagon master, comes upon Maria, his former girlfriend, and learns that she has married Rance Macklin, a corrupt lawman and the son of a rancher Murdock once worked for. Macklin is jealous of the wagon master, and his brothers are in the town as well. In a gunfight in their past, Macklin lost his right arm, and Murdock was the one responsible.
