Plot summary
Romania, 1940: the Iron Guard places an ancient spell on a golden Luger handgun that Himmler of the SS gave them. Decades later in Bucharest, Loredana Anescu comes across the weapon while sorting through the belongings of her dying grandfather, unaware of what it holds. Damian Lupescu, who runs Archangel Electronics, has waited for the gun to surface and dreams of using its power to restore fascism across Europe through modern technology. Loredana passes the pistol to Axel O'Rourke, an Irish nightclub owner who smuggles cigarettes from Bucharest to London. When Lupescu learns that she found the Luger, he comes after her for it, and she flees the city with Axel.
