Grabbers (2012) on Netflix

Plot summary

Ciarán O'Shea is the alcoholic Garda on a remote Irish island, and he is not happy to be paired with a workaholic newcomer, Lisa Nolan, who volunteers them for temporary duty there. Mutilated whale carcasses wash up on the beaches and islanders start to disappear. The attackers are tentacled, bloodsucking creatures that the locals name Grabbers. When the town drunk, Paddy Barrett, survives an attack, the marine ecologist Dr. Smith reasons that his high blood alcohol content was toxic to the creature. With a storm cutting off escape or help, O'Shea and Nolan settle on an unusual defense: keep the island drunk.
