Plot summary
Elizabeth Shoaf is a schoolgirl whose mother, Madeline, keeps telling her what to do. Tired of it, Elizabeth walks home from school through the woods, where she meets a man, Vinson Filyaw, who claims to be a police officer and places her under arrest. Filyaw is a fugitive and a sexual predator, and he abducts her. Held against her will, Elizabeth decides that getting out is up to her and looks for a way to escape.
