Plot summary
Gimme Some Truth assembles 16-millimeter footage from the 1971 sessions for John Lennon's album Imagine. Lennon and Yoko Ono are at the center of it, working in the studio with coproducer Phil Spector and the musicians who played on the record. The material was shot while the songs were still taking shape, and some of it comes from the film Imagine that Lennon and Ono made themselves. Lennon, thirty years old during the sessions, is by turns clowning and exacting.
